Heather and Jon had three child free nights in the blue mountains. This was our first child free time in 3 years and was very precious. We enjoyed leisurely breakfasts and went on a bush walk. Every steep climb, sheer drop or tempting to climb rock made us very glad we did not have Harrison with us. The weather was lovely and the scenery beautiful. Jon may mock the word "historic" used to describe the 1920s home we visited, but the gardens were lovely and the decor impressive. Heather is now going to put inverted commas around the word "beach" to describe the sea front in England.
The plan was that Nerida would bring the children up and stay for a holiday all together, but she had an accident and two nights in hospital for her meant that Grandma and Papa had more time with the children than planned. She is OK and the children did not seem to miss us that much. Thanks to the Calders for lending us their lovely Leura home.
