I said that we would never have rodents as pets. Turns out I was wrong.
Jon set a live trap in our herb garden to protect our herbs from being nibbled. He caught a native rodent. He set out to the National Park to release it back into the wild (making the children late for school in the process!) Harrison and Bethany were distraught at losing their new friend so Jon promised them rodents.
Our plan faltered when we discovered that you can't get hamsters in Australia, but Jon located and collected a mouse house and three mice (one for Harrison, one for Bethany and one for luck!). Their names are Mousie, Awesomier and Timmy. Another family was giving them away for free, who can think why?
As Spring approaches I am enjoying the daffodils.
