Farm Stay October school holidays

In the October school holidays we travelled to Bendemeer.  It's a tiny country town 5 1/2 hours north west of Sydney in the "New England" area of NSW (between Tamworth and Armidale).  We stayed in a cottage at a cattle farm.

It helps that neither child gets car sick reading in the car!

Our cottage.

Harrison declared breakfast the best part of the holiday.

View from the farm gate.

Moving cows from one paddock to another.

Another day we headed out on the ute to feed the calves hay.

 They came running!

We threw hay from the back of the ute...

..and hopped down to hand feed.

On another day we had a tour of the farm on the back of the ute.

This is Bendemeer!

We had lots of fun playing in the river at Bendemeer.

We visited Tamworth, country music capital of Australia.  Here's Jon with the giant golden guitar!

In Thunderbolt bushranger country, the town of Uralla we went goldpanning!

We had fun but not sure we found much gold!

Some mornings we stayed on the farm and did craft.

This is a 1850s farm, Irish settlers came to"New England".
