Our friends Fiona and Lionel, and Fiona's mum, Jeanette (visiting from Australia) rented an apartment near Chichester to have the week after Christmas with us. It was fabulous! We decided that Harrison would not cope with stately homes as a tourist attraction and took them to Staunton Country park, as you do in the FREEZING COLD! We enjoyed the animals, gardens and maze. We brought a picnic and ate it in the (realtive) warmth of the greenhouse.
Jon and Lionel cooked NYE dinner at their apartment (our flat's oven not big enough!) and then drove it to Chichester, collecting our friend Helen on the way. Meals on Wheels!
Do you like the hat Jeanette knitted for Bethany? Lionel was a big hit with Harrison, who sent me downstairs to fetch "that other boy" to play with him. The next morning he opened the front door at breakfast and said "I think Lionel is coming!" But people without children get to sleep in on New Years Day.....
